Hey parents! Just wanted to remind you, next Friday, May 3rd we will be having our kiddos Wii Game Night. This is an opportunity for Missio Kids to serve you the parents with a FREE date night. It also gives us an opportunity to love on your kiddos and have a blast!

We will meet at the church building at 6 pm and be there until 9 pm. This is for any of our kiddos 5th grade and under. (even the ones not old enough to play the Wii just yet)

The only things we need you to do are: One - please let shelby know if you are planning on bringing your kiddos. We need to know this by Sunday Night. That will help us make sure we have enough adults there to help. Two - We are asking that you either feed your kiddos dinner before they come or send them with dinner and we can feed them for you. :) We will have a few snacks. (koolaid, popcorn, and cookies) THANKS!!!

is getting super PUMPED! In roughly 24 hours Missio Kids will be having their Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt! We have almost 700 Easter eggs stuffed and ready to go, as well as prizes galore to give away! The hunt will be inside the church building for any parents wondering about weather. It is going to be a blast!! See you all at 6!

As most of you know in just a couple weeks, we have the joy of participating in a baby dedication during our Sunday morning gathering. As I wait in excitement, I wanted to reflect on why we do baby dedications at Missio Dei. Baby dedications, not to be confused with infant baptism, is a time for families to publicly share their desire to raise their children in a gospel centered family.

First, Through this public declaration they are committing before God and their church family that they are serious about the role of parenthood that God has so graciously blessed them with. As a church family, it is our part to first celebrate these children and families.

Second, as a church family we also make a declaration to support each commitment made. We understand that baby dedications are simply a symbol of the intentions of each family. As a church family, we commit to praying with each family as their children grow.

We pray that God will one day illuminate their hearts to the truth of the gospel and that they will believe and follow Him. I cannot wait for this next celebration at Missio Dei. I am so thankful for how God is blessing so many of our families with sweet babies.

Looking forward to April 14th!

Hey everyone!
I have two things I need to update you guys on!

One: This month I will be working on our next quarter rotation for Missio Kids. First, I want to thank everyone who served this last quarter. I am so blessed with so many awesome parents and volunteers who love our kiddos! so THANK YOU! You guys make this ministry awesome. As I work on the next schedule (April-June), please let me know if you have any dates you are unavailable to serve or if there is any specific age group you want to work with. Also, we are always looking for additional people to serve! So if you are not serving now and would like to be a part, please let me know!

Two: As I hope you all know our FLASHLIGHT EASTER EGG HUNT is coming soon. It is Friday March 29th. But we still need your help. We have roughly 500 empty plastic eggs that we need filled. If you could help us by donating candy and small prizes (such as stickers, balls, any other little toys that could fit in an egg) that would be amazing. We also need big prizes (such as bubbles, chalk, coloring books, and fun stuff you can easily find for $1 or 2 at Walmart or even the dollar tree) to give away as prizes at the end. This is going to be like no other Easter egg hunt we have ever had. Be sure to send your child with a basket/bag to collect their eggs and a flashlight! I also gave our older kiddos (1st - 5th grade) a challenge that if they each bring an friend, they get to silly-string me at the end of the night. :)

Thank you guys for all your help and let me know if I can answer any questions. Feel free to email me at shelby @ missiodeimemphis.com

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!!

Friday March 29th! We are going to have our first ever flashlight Easter egg hunt. This will be like no other Easter egg hunt you have ever been to, I promise! We have over 300 eggs ready to hide. But we need your help with goodies to put in the eggs. It can be candy, stickers, or anything fun for our kiddos. We will split the group into two teams for a super fun egg hunt challenge. Each child needs to bring a flashlight as we will be playing at night. Be prepared for glow in the dark paint, glow sticks, and FUN! It is going to be awesome so bring a friend with you.

Can you believe it? This Sunday we will be in FEBRUARY! 2013 is already flying. January was a great month for Missio Kids and I know february is going to be even better! With that said this Sunday don't forget to pick up your monthly newsletter and weekly Table Talk.

This Sunday we will be reading and learning "God Makes a Way" on page 92 of our Jesus StoryBook Bibles. If any of you do not have a copy of the Jesus Storybook Bible let me know so we can get you one.
